New York 08

When I visited New York in the summer I became a fully fledged tourist, visiting all the sites.

Architecture: I visited the Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Guggenheim.

Central Park: and Central Park four times

MoMA: The Museum of Modern Art was one of my fav. galeries I visited and at the time it held an Architectural exhibition called Modern Delivery: based on fabricating the modern dwelling.

Psycho Building exhibition

The Psycho Buildings Exhibition (28th May - 25th August 08) celebreated the 40th aniversery of the Hayward Gallery. The exhibition brought together artists who created habitat like structures and architectural enviroments.
The exhibition was amazing. It pushed boundaries, excited your senses and stopped time. I loved how you could experience the art though smell and touch as well as becoming part of the exhibition which for me is what architecture is all about.
To find out more on the exhibition and the artist involved visit....

Summer 2008

During the summer I managed to get a placement as a volunteer for The Royal Parks Landscape Architecture team, based in London's Hyde Park. It allowed me to get an idea of what Landscape Architects do in practice, and some hands on work experience.
My placement lasted two months and I was given lots of tasks including my own project, which allowed me to go through the step by step process needed in practice.
Overall I gained so much, but more specifically knowledge of what governmental landscape is all about.
