On the 20th December I traveled to Sydney, mainly for the sun and sites but also to catch up with family in Tasmania. Tasmania was very different to Sydney. In Tasmania it took about 20 mins by car to get to the nearest shops and there were no transport services, but that meant that the landscapes were uninterrupted by buildings and were completely untouched except for a random dairy or flower farm. There was a great view from my family's home of a mountain range which the locals call "Sleeping Beauty" because it resembles a woman lying down asleep. I also visited a rain forest and strolled though the tree canopy on suspended walkways.
Back in Sydney I checked out the city parks, Hyde Park and the Botanical Gardens, and then went on to the Blue Mountain range which gets its name from the haze of evaporated eucaliptus oils that refract blue in the light.
Photos will follow shortly of the parks and mountain ranges.
